Ashiya Campus

Introduction

A campus in a quiet residential area, with its own individual playground!

We have a playground equipped with a playground ladder, hanging rings, tricycles and a slide, where children can enjoy.
There are places full of nature such as Shukugawa park and Seaside park near our campus. We also visit Otani Art Museum and Ashiya City Museum of Art and History for our excursion trips.
Our neighbour Koroen Elementary School, is designated as evacuation site, which keeps us safe at emergencies.
School lunch is provided by Genmian, an organic restaurant using organic vegetables. Menus are thought to have a balanced nutritions, and flavoured specifically for children.
We also have a drive-thru system for parents to drop off their child(ren) at the door.

About Us

Founder  Kumiko Nakamura

Businesses that cannot adapt to the changing society won’t survive. However, why does education not change?
In the time where uniqueness is required and practical usage ICT is a norm, can education be the same as before?

“40 years gap of education” by a British educationist, says parents do not doubt that the education they’re giving to their children is from 20 years ago, meanwhile what children really need is the education that seeks 20 years ahead. There is a 40 years of gap between “parents thought” and “necessary education”.

We as Kansai International Academy will continue to change and provide necessary education for the future, which we believe will nurture leaders with an international mindset.

Please believe in the possibility of children, without forcing any values, and please have the courage to let your children have “a new education that you have never experienced before”.

The modern view of academic ability is based on the concept that people have a multitude of interests, and that there are common methods for investigating those interests. Therefore, people do not need to decide the direction of their studies in advance. Instead, they can foster skills such as gathering data, mathematical analysis, and critical thinking.

According to this concept, it would be nonsense to look at all known history and ask what percentage of that history a person knows. Nor does it follow that the purpose of education is to standardize the content of the “textbook” in advance and then master the standardized content.

In other words, the content of academic skills becomes a process and becomes meta-academic, and the target of adaptation of those meta-academic skills is different for each person.

Under this view of academics, all entrance exams must be AO (Admissions Office) exams. Because if there are a million people, there are a million different things each person is working on. Because there is. No single standard test can assess what every person is working on.
